A Guide to Speleology *Under Construction
What is speleology?
An activity in cave or caving itself as a science aproach are called speleology. This term includes not only scientific concern but also investigation and physical activity. Those are archaeology, biology, physics, chemistry. Moreover, cave exploration technique, rescue tecnique and survey tecnique are also consits of a part of speleology. Here are brief introduction of them.
From the stone age in Altamira, caves have prooved what they have been used. So there have been a lot of traces in caves in our history. Those are not only paintings, but also earthenware, flint, tomb and so on. Moreover, we also find dinnerware, foods like fish bone or nuts and foot prints in caves.
Anthropology
When Darwin put his revolutional theory, Origin of Species, up to the academy, anthropologist got their own place. They have been studied ethnoarcheology such as Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon who lived in caves.
Biology
This science sutdies for insects, animals, fishes or plants which have been lived in cave. Such as ground beetle, comb-footed spider bat and so on.
Paleontology
Paleontology studies fossil. Animal fossil which had been found in caves of a lair, a grave or a stray. In case of shell fossil, they sometimes discoverd the cave which was once under the sea level. Thereforem it is a kind of historical science of the earth.
